Coffee shops, grocery stores and parties are pretty common places to connect, but we have some new ideas on the horizon! Fitness Classes – The gym or yoga classes are a great place to meet new people. It’s easy to chat about your fitness goals with like-minded people. Because you’ll be seeing the same people in your classes or at the gym, it’s not difficult to find out about people’s lives, jobs, kids, etc. Icebreakers and elevator pitches are not as stressful when you’re sweating with people.

Airports - Airport lounges or in the air is one of the easiest ways to meet new people and exchange business cards. Use your downtime effectively in the waiting area – or during that four hour flight — by engaging in small talk with the person next to you. You never know who you’re going to meet or what’s going to happen.

Community Service – Charity work is not only a great to give back to your community, but you meet a diverse group of people as a result of your volunteer efforts. Pick a local food bank, animal sanctuary, or non-profit where you can put in a few hours after work or on a weekend alongside other people in your area. Alumni Associations - The school tie is a time-tested way of networking because there’s the expectation that alumni will help one another. Many colleges have alumni associations that meet regularly.
